511 Deployment Coalition to Release
Version 1.1 of Implementation Guidelines
at Arizona Conference March 19-21

WASHINGTON, DC, Mar. 12, 2002—The 511 Deployment Coalition plans to release Version 1.1 of the Implementation Guidelines for Launching 511 Services at the 511 Deployment Conference: Answering America's Call for Traveler Information to be held March 19-21 in Scottsdale, Arizona. The guidelines provide recommendations for 511 service content, and other guidance intended to promote the quality and consistency of 511 services.

The guidelines are available on the Intelligent Transportation Society of America's (ITS America's) web site at http://www.itsa.org/511.html and the U.S. Department of Transportation's (USDOT's) web site at http://www.its.dot.gov/511/511.htm. Version 1.1 will reflect comments received on Version 1.0 of the guidelines, which was published in November 2001.


The American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO) leads the 511 Deployment Coalition, which includes the American Public Transportation Association, ITS America, USDOT, and more than 26 other public agencies, industry groups, associations and private companies.
