Introducing the Template for Submitting Potential Dynamic Mobility Applications
As part of the connected vehicle Dynamic Mobility Applications Program, the U.S. DOT is soliciting ideas of transformative applications that would use connected vehicle technology and its data to improve the nature, accuracy, precision or speed of dynamic decision making by both system managers and system users. A Template has been developed as an aid to the stakeholders and others that wish to submit ideas, and provide a level of consistency for the submittals.
This is a second call for transformative ideas; the new date for submissions is 15 October 2010. The first request resulted in 49 ideas received through 31 August 2010. These ideas are summarized in the document that is available below. A preliminary assessment revealed only a few submissions in the traffic signal control area. The U.S. DOT is looking for more ideas in this area.
Click on the links below for a blank template (PDF or DOC) and instructions, a SAMPLE completed application to help in filling out the template, prior efforts (VII) for application development plans, and a summary of application ideas submitted through 20 August.
The transcript and recording from the June 24 Webinar that described the template and the planned next steps are available here.
