Integrated Corridor Management Road Map

The graphic is of the Integrated Corridor Management Roadmap.

The Integrated Corridor Management Roadmap runs from the third quarter of FY 2004 through the fourth quarter of FY 2011 and consists of four phases plus two cross-cutting activities.

Initial Cross-Cutting Activity - Develop Program Plan and Engage Stakeholder Working Group: six items

  • Establish and Engage Multimodal Stakeholder Working Group: Q1-FY2005 to Q4-FY2011
  • Develop Draft Program Plan for Stakeholder Review: Q3-FY2004 to Q1-FY2005
  • Revise Program Plan: Q2-FY2005 to Q3-FY2005
  • Update Program Plan: Q1-FY2006 to Q2-FY2006
  • Update Program Plan as Necessary: Q2-FY2007 to Q1-FY2008 and beyond
  • ICM Support: Q2-FY2008 to Q4-FY2011

Phase 1: Foundational Research: nine items and one decision point

  • Phase 1.1: Develop Generic ICM Concept: Q2-FY2005 to Q3-FY2006; and
  • Phase 1.1 continued: Update ICM Concept as Necessary: Q4-FY2006 to Q1-FY2008 and beyond
  • Phase 1.2: Conduct ICM Foundation Research: Q2-FY2005 to Q2-FY2006
  • Phase 1.3: Document Successful Local Integration Efforts: Q2-FY2005 to Q2-FY2006
  • Phase 1.4: Identify Corridor Types, Operational Approaches and Strategies, and Analysis Tools: Q3-FY2005 to Q3-FY2006
  • Phase 1.5: Determine ICM Development Feasibility: Q3-FY2005 to Q3-FY2006
  • Decision Point No. 1: Development Feasibility: Are there sufficient integration issues and likelihood of success and benefits to justify further work? Q4-FY2005
  • Phase 1.6: Integrated Corridor Management Focus Groups: Q2-FY2006 to Q4-FY2006
  • Phase 1.7: Provide Technical Assistance to ICM Stage 1 Pioneer Sites: Q2-FY2006 to Q3-FY2006
  • Phase 1.8: Transit Issues, Contributions, and Perspectives in ICM: Q4-FY2006 to Q4-FY2007

Phase 2: Corridor Tools, Strategies, and Integration: two items

  • Phase 2.1: ICM Tools and Strategies: Q2-FY2006 to Q4-FY2011
  • Phase 2.2: Prototyping ICM System Components: Q1-FY2007 to Q4-FY2010

Phase 3: Corridor Site Development, Analysis, and Demonstration: three items, four milestones, and two decision points

  • Milestone: Post Request for Applications (RFA): Q2-FY2006
  • Milestone: Select ICM Pioneer Sites: Q3-FY2006
  • Phase 3.1: Stage One - ICM Pioneer Site Concepts of Operations and Requirements: Q4-FY2006 to Q4-FY2007
  • Milestone: Select Pioneer AMS Sites: Q1-FY2008
  • Decision Point No. 2: Site Application Feasibility: Are tools available to model the ICM strategies, and do benefit-cost findings warrant the implementation of ICM? Q1-FY2008
  • Phase 3.2: Stage Two - Analysis, Modeling, and Simulation of Selected Sites: Q2-FY2008 to Q1-FY2009
  • Milestone: Select Pioneer Demonstration Sites: Q1-FY2009
  • Decision Point No. 3: Site Demonstrations Feasibility: Are the quality and availability of ICM modeling and analysis data, the benefits determined in the results, and the feasibility of the sites sufficient to successfully demonstrate the potential of ICM? Q2-FY2009
  • Phase 3.3: Stage Three - ICM Site Demonstration Projects: Q2-FY2009 to Q4-FY2011

Phase 4: Knowledge and Technology Transfer: five items
