"Customer Perspectives: New Options and Expectations for a Performance-Oriented Transportation System"

How does the introduction of managed lanes affect the expectations of transportation system customers?  How are key operations and management strategies, such as traffic incident management and corridor management approaches, adapting to meet these shifting expectations?  How do planners and designers need to work differently in to develop and manage higher performing roadways in this emerging paradigm?

Explore these questions and more with experts and implementers from across the country through a series of three facilitated conversation circles “Customer Perspectives: New Options and Expectations for a Performance-Oriented Transportation System.”

• Conversation Circle #3-Planning and design considerations for the roadway network

Expert facilitators John Corbin (Director of Traffic Operations, Wisconsin DOT) and Steve Corbin (Operations Director, State Road and Tollway Authority) and April Armstrong (Assistant Vice President Transportation Solutions Division, SAIC) will run these participative conversation circles.  Panelists with expertise in public relations; Integrated Corridor Management Pioneer Sites and early adopter locations; and leaders in express and managed lane projects and key operations strategies, such as traffic incident management, will share their experiences in three key areas of focus for each circle:  Participants will leave with an updated toolkit of strategies and approaches to consider, equipped to champion commitment from partners to work collaboratively and proactively to enable a customer-based approach and transform transportation operations!
