Presolictation Information: Michigan IntelliDriveSM Test Bed and IntelliDriveSM Systems Engineering Update
The US Department of Transportation’s ITS Joint Program Office is in the process of creating a Request for Proposal (RFP) for operations and maintenance of the Michigan IntelliDriveSM Test Bed. A presolicitation notice about the Michigan Test Bed can be found at (FedBizOpps.gov) under Solicitation RFP DTFH61-09-R-00029, posted on June 18, 2009.
Also in process is a Request for Quotation (RFQ) DTFH61-09-Q-00063 for the IntelliDriveSM System Engineering Update. No announcement will be made in FedBizOpps.gov, because it is the intent of the FHWA to a make award to a vendor that is listed on the GSA Professional Engineering Services schedule PES871-3. An RFQ presolicitation notice has been sent to a number of selected firms. If any vendors listed on the PES871-3 schedule are interested in receiving the presolictation notice and subsequent RFQ please email Charles M. Kotch, Contract Specialist at the following email address: charles.kotch@dot.gov.
Award of both requirements are expected in the fourth quarter of 2009.
The System Engineering Update will consist of updating the IntelliDriveSM Concept of Operation to include the broadening of the scope of the concept, updating the System Architecture to accommodate the new definition of the system, and to provide recommendations for updates to standards used to define system elements. The contractor will execute the process that will convert stakeholder requirements into the new system definition. One of the first tasks will be to solicit related requirements from IntelliDriveSM stakeholders. Representatives from the ITS industry, automobile industry, traffic signal controller industry, telecommunications industry, commercial vehicle operators (CVO), vehicle aftermarket and retrofit providers, transit operators, and rail operators will be invited to participate in requirements gathering workshops. USDOT and the contractor will be scheduling these workshops later this year.
IntelliDrive is a registered service mark of the US Department of Transportation.
