Description

This Gantt chart shows the schedule for four tasks (Tasks 1, 2, 3, and 4) for the last quarter (Q4) of Fiscal Year (FY) 04 and each quarter (Q1, Q2, Q3, Q4) of FY 05, 06, 07, 08, and 09.

The overall outcome for these tasks is:

• Milestone: Evaluate the safety benefits of vehicles equipped with Integrated Vehicle Based Systems that address multiple crash types.

For Task 1, the subtask shown is:

• Preparatory Analyses (a government-initiated activity) from the beginning of Q4 FY 04 through Q1 FY 06.
• The final goals of Task 1 are stakeholder ownership, program definition, and execution strategy.

For Task 2, the subtask shown is:

• System Design (a partner-led activity) from the beginning of Q1 FY 06 through Q3 FY 07.
• The final goal of Task 2 is integrated system design.

For Task 3, the subtasks shown are:

• Build and validate prototype vehicles (a partner-led activity) from the beginning of Q3 FY 07 through Q1 FY 08.
• Conduct FOT (a partner-led activity) from the beginning of Q1 FY 08 through Q3 FY 09.
• The final goals of Task 3 are prototype vehicles, objective test procedures, FOT design, and implementation.

For Task 4, the subtask shown is:

• Perform independent evaluation (a government-initiated activity) from the beginning of Q2 FY 05 through Q4 FY 09.
• The final goals of Task 4 are safety benefits, user acceptance, cost analysis, and practicality.
