The U.S. Department of Transportation (U.S.DOT) will be hosting a free public meeting and webinar to provide updates and promote lively discussion on the Connected Vehicle Safety Program. This is a follow on to a similar meeting and webinar held in July, 2010. The meeting is being organized by the Intelligent Transportation Systems Joint Program Office (ITS JPO) which is part of the Research and Innovative Technology Administration (RITA). To learn more about the ITS Program please visit the program’s website at www.its.dot.gov.
The goal of this public meeting and webinar is to provide an overview of the entire ITS Connected Vehicle Safety research program, including Vehicle to Vehicle (V2V), Vehicle to Infrastructure (V2I), Safety Pilot, Safety Policy, and Human Factors. There will also be a special session on commercial vehicles designed to solicit input from the commercial vehicle industry (heavy vehicle manufacturers, suppliers, and other interested parties) on U.S. DOT’s research plans for related commercial vehicle applications for safety.
