About the Public Meeting and Webcast
A half-day workshop is scheduled for October 27, 2011 in Washington, D.C. to bring stakeholders together as part of an interactive forum to discuss opportunities, needs, transformative goals and performance measures. Outcomes from this workshop will provide an important foundation to the overall vision and an operational concept for EnableATIS. An electronic feedback form will be made available to allow participants to provide additional input.
About the Dynamic Mobility Applications Program
The Dynamic Mobility Applications program seeks to identify, develop, and deploy applications that leverage the full potential of connected vehicles, travelers and infrastructure to enhance current operational practices and transform future surface transportation systems management. Program objectives include:
- Create applications exploiting frequently collected and rapidly disseminated multi-source data drawn from connected travelers, vehicles and infrastructure;
- Develop and assess applications showing potential to improve the nature, accuracy, precision and/or speed of dynamic decision making by both system managers and system users;
- Identify innovative forms of wireless connectivity linking travelers, vehicles and infrastructure supporting these new mobility applications; and
- Demonstrate promising applications predicted to significantly improve the capability of the transportation system to provide safe, reliable, and secure movement of goods and people.
A successful Dynamic Mobility Applications Program will lead to the more rapid and cost-effective deployment of interoperable technologies and applications that increase system efficiency and improve individual mobility. The Dynamic Mobility Applications Program will act to promote the highest levels of collaboration and cooperation in the research and development of transformative mobility applications. Further, the program seeks to facilitate the highest level of free and open competition in the commercialization of mobility applications as well as their integration and maintenance. About EnableATIS
The goal of EnableATIS is to establish a vision and an operational concept for transformational advanced traveler information services (ATIS) applications that are enabled through the provision of integrated, multi-source, multi-modal data. This vision and operational concept will serve as a framework for the development of ATIS applications, with a particular focus on identifying potential roles for public sector agencies in supporting, developing, and deploying the applications. While there is no cost to participate in the webinar or attend the public meeting, registration is required for the public meeting
