Emphasize the workshop will begin to examine detail into, roles, applications, operational scenarios, interactions and business practices

Bob to introduce, provide a description of how we got to EnableATIS… how EnableATIS represents a next-gen approach to traveler information, considering the anticipated advances with Connected Vehicles, more and better data through a variety of sources, etc.

When we talk about EnableATIS, we are really looking at that program environment… going beyond specific systems like 511 (although they may be a part of it)… but really want to examine some of the issues including:

How will users interact with the next gen of traveler information

What needs to be in place to support that?

What will the different roles be?

How will data sharing/ownership be addressed?

We do not want to get too far in to the nuances of specific applications – rather we really want to focus on operational scenarios and concepts… and talk through what would be different about this future environment than what we are doing today.

Discuss the components of the Operational Concept – how the workshop and other feedback mechanisms have been structured to provide input into these different areas.

Describe the difference between an Operational Concept and Concept of Operations. Other ‘bundles’ within the CV program are moving forward with a full ConOps… EnableATIS isn’t there yet, so this is more of a foundational effort to establish some priorities and roles before a ConOps can be developed…

Provide a little context for how we got here – what we mean by transformational, emphasis on the link to open source data and enhanced data sharing.

Feedback form is largely structured around the focus for the breakout groups so we will have some comparable input mechanisms.
