How we got to EnableATIS – talk very briefly about some of the trends and shifts in the traveler information marketplace

Just for some context:
Apple    - phone released June 29, 2007
first 3rd party games available August 4, 2007
iPhone app store opens July 11, 2008
now 15,000,000,000 apps downloaded as of July 2011

New York MTA, in August, 2009 MTA was suing developers, in May, 2010 MTA opens their data and holds a developer conference

Point is – things are moving FAST in this industry! And surprisingly, philosophical/business model shifts are occurring at a rapid pace.
