ITS JPO to Issue Contract to ITS America for Technical Services and Stakeholder Outreach Support

The U.S. Department of Transportation (USDOT), Research and Innovative Technology Administration (RITA), Intelligent Transportation Systems Joint Program Office (ITS JPO) has determined the need to issue a sole source contract to the Intelligent Transportation Society of America (ITS America). The contract is in support of the ITS JPO in meeting current and future challenges, including surface transportation management and operations. Under this planned contract, ITS America will support the ITS JPO by providing essential stakeholder engagement and technical information sharing services regarding ITS JPO research activities.

ITS America is a non-profit membership organization formed to create a bridge between the electronics industry and the transportation communities.  Per the ITS America website, "Our members include private corporations, public agencies, and academic institutions involved in the research, development and design of Intelligent Transportation Systems technologies that enhance safety, increase mobility and sustain the environment." ITS America provides the only organization of its type for the discussion and guidance of the ITS program based upon its diverse membership.

This is a re-procurement of an existing requirement currently being performed by ITS America under Contract No. DTFH61-08-D-00011 awarded in 2008 as a sole source award. Pursuant to FAR 6.305, "Availability of the Justification," this Justification for Other Than Full and Open Competition (JOTFOC) document is hereby posted and made publicly available at www.FedBizOpps.gov. Per FAR 5.207 (c) (16)(ii) all responsible sources may submit a capability statement, proposal, or quotation, which shall be considered by the agency.
