Directions to the Volpe Center

From Logan Airport via MBTA and Private Transportation
MBTA Public Transportation

1. From Terminal A or E, take the Silver Line Waterfront SL1 service to South Station. Please visit the MBTA web site for a detailed map and schedule information.
2. At South Station, change to the Red Line MBTA train northbound (to Alewife).
3. Take the Red Line to the Kendall Square stop.
4. Go straight through the lobby of the Marriott hotel.
5. The Center is located on Broadway directly across from the Marriott Hotel.

Private Transportation

1. Follow signs to merge onto I-90 West/Mass Pike/Massachusetts Turnpike.
2. Take exit number 24-25 for I-93 North/South Boston.
3. Merge onto MA-3 North/US-1North/I-93 North via the exit on the left.
4. Take I-93 North to Exit 26 ( Storrow Drive), keeping to the left.
5. Take first exit on left to Government Center/Kendall Square.
6. Turn right and go over the Longfellow Bridge.
7. The Center is the first building on the right after passing a set of lights ( Third Street).

From Highways North via Private Transportation
I-95 Southbound

1. Take I-95 South to Route 1 South.
2. Go over the Tobin Bridge.
3. Stay left and pay toll.
4. Take I-93 South to Exit 26 ( Storrow Drive).
5. Follow signs for Storrow Drive, keeping to the right.
6. Go through tunnel/underpass.
7. Take first exit on left to Government Center/Kendall Square.
8. Turn right and go over the Longfellow Bridge.
9. The Center is the first building on the right after passing a set of lights ( Third Street).

I-93 South (Expressway)

1. Take Exit 26 ( Storrow Drive).
2. Follow signs for Storrow Drive, keeping to the right.
3. Go through tunnel/underpass.
4. Take first exit on left to Government Center/Kendall Square.
5. Turn right and go over the Longfellow Bridge.
6. The Center is the first building on the right after passing a set of lights ( Third Street).

From Highways South via Private Transportation
I-95 North ( Providence area)

1. Proceed North to the split.
2. Go right at the split onto Route 93 (Expressway) to Boston.
3. Take Exit 26 ( Storrow Drive) off Route 93.
4. Follow signs for Storrow Drive, keeping to the left.
5. Go through tunnel/underpass.
6. Take first exit on left to Government Center/Kendall Square.
7. Turn right and go over the Longfellow Bridge.
8. The Center is the first building on the right after passing a set of lights ( Third Street).

I-93 North (Expressway)

1. Take Exit 26 ( Storrow Drive).
2. Follow signs for Storrow Drive, keeping to the left.
3. Go through tunnel/underpass.
4. Take first exit on left to Government Center/Kendall Square.
5. Turn right and go over the Longfellow Bridge.

From Highways West via Private Transportation
Mass. Turnpike (I-90 East)

1. Take I-90 East.
2. Get off at Exit 18 (Allston/Cambridge).
3. Take the right lane off.
4. Turn right onto Storrow Drive (Guest Quarters Suites Hotel is on right)
5. Take the Government Center/Kendall Square exit.
6. Turn left and go over the Longfellow Bridge.
7. The Center is the first building on the right after passing a set of lights ( Third Street).

Route 2

1. Follow Route 2 to the rotary.
2. Turn right and go over the bridge ( Alewife Brook Parkway).
3. At end, turn left (but stay right).
4. Proceed Memorial Drive, eastbound.
5. Drive along Charles River past MIT.
6. Note: Memorial Drive will first bear left under an underpass, then bear right. Do not take left to Downtown Boston.
7. Memorial Drive then curves left under the Longfellow Bridge, becoming Edwin Land Boulevard.
8. Turn left at 1st light onto Binney Street.
9. Turn left again at 2nd light onto Third Street.
10. At end of Third, turn right onto Broadway.
11. The Center is the first building on the right.
