ITS JPO Program-UTC/University Collaboration Workshop

The PCB Program will be conducting an ITS JPO Strategic Research Plan Workshop on 28-29 April 2010.  The audience will consist of invited University Transportation Center researchers as well as other universities that may be doing ITS research of interest to the JPO. 

Objectives and Outcomes of the Workshop include:
For Program Managers:

  • Awareness of the university research that relates to IntelliDriveSM and associated findings and results.
  • Understanding of the research capabilities of universities (technology or applications development, data analysis, algorithm development, testing, commercialization, innovation, etc.

For UTC/universities:

  • Understanding of the Plan for the ITS Program over the next 5 years.
  • Understanding of the explicit research questions and where the ITS Program Research Managers have gaps in their research plans that need to be filled.
  • Opportunity to propose their capabilities for collaboration and partnering.

Current status of Workshop

  • Workshop Announcements went out on 26 March 2010.
  • Workshop Announcement has been advertised through numerous avenues including: directed invitations to UTCs who indicated an interest in attending, T3 webinar list serve, TRB, ITE, ITS America, the PCB Web site and the IntellidriveSM Web site.
  • Current registration (as of 29 March 2010) includes 10 attending in person and 7 attending via webinar.
  • PCB Program Manager continues to meet with JPO Program Managers to discuss agenda and workshop content.
