|•FHWA Exploratory Advanced Research (EAR) Program has
three Assistive Technologies for Visually Impaired Persons Projects:
|•Intelligent Situation Awareness and Navigation Aid for
Visually Impaired Persons project- to enhance situation awareness.
|•Navigation Guidance for People with Vision Impairment
project- to increase mobility.
|•Extended Event Horizon Navigation and Wayfinding for
Blind and Visually Impaired Pedestrians in Unstructured Environments- to help
look further ahead in time and space.
|•Vehicle to Pedestrian Testing of Market Ready Products
under V2P Program
|•USDOT will start a V2P testing project in the USDOT
research center (Turner-Fairbank Highway Research Center) to test pedestrian
applications at the signalized intersection located within the center.
