Current Research
The U.S. Department of Transportation’s ITS research focuses on several high-priority areas including Emerging and Enabling Technologies, Data Access and Exchanges, ITS Cybersecurity Research, Automation, ITS4US, and Accelerating ITS Deployment. The ITS Strategic Plan includes in-depth discussion of the ITS Program’s strategic goals, these research areas, and four technology transfer programs.

U.S. Department of Transportation (USDOT) to Host Automated Vehicle 3.0 Meeting on March 1
On March 1, 2018, the USDOT will host an Automated Vehicle 3.0 Public Meeting from 1:00 to 4:30 pm EST at USDOT Headquarters.
Stakeholders and the public are invited to attend a summit with senior leadership from USDOT, state and local partners, industry, academia, and safety advocates at USDOT Headquarters. The event will focus on key cross-modal issues that are important to the successful integration of automated vehicles into our nation's surface transportation system. The event will be webcasted live and a docket (Docket No. DOT-OST-2018-0017) has been opened so that stakeholders and the public can submit information both before and after the summit.
