The U.S. Department of Transportation releases the Connected Vehicle Reference Implementation Architecture (CVRIA) Version 2.2 and Systems Engineering Tool for Intelligent Transportation (SET-IT) Version 2.2

The United States Department of Transportation (USDOT) Intelligent Transportation Systems-Joint Program Office (ITS-JPO) is pleased to announce that the Connected Vehicle Reference Implementation Architecture (CVRIA) and the Systems Engineering Tool for Intelligent Transportation (SET-IT) have been updated to Version 2.2 and are available at the CVRIA Website: http://www.iteris.com/cvria/.

The CVRIA provides the basis for identifying key interfaces across the connected vehicle environment and supports analyses to identify and prioritize USDOT support for standards development activities. CVRIA also supports policy considerations for certification, standards, core system implementation, and other elements of the connected vehicle environment. This new version of the CVRIA provides Physical, Functional, Enterprise and Communication viewpoint enhancements, as well as covering international applications.

The SET-IT software provides a single software tool that integrates drawing and database tools with the CVRIA so that users can develop project architectures for pilots, test beds and early deployments.

The SET-IT 2.2 update aligns with CVRIA Version 2.2 and addresses issues reported by SET-IT users, including the connected vehicle pilot sites.  In CVRIA 2.2, the separate “Signal Phase & Timing” application has been removed; the “Connected Vehicle Map Management” application is now “Map Management.”  Other minor changes have been made to support SET-IT, namely, providing performance enhancements and more consistency among views, diagrams, and tables.  The SET-IT software tool is available for download on the CVRIA website, at the following link:
