|Shown is a side view
profile generated by a light curtain scanner. The software is able to
identify that it is a car towing another car with a tow bar and not two
discrete, separate cars. The light
curtain scan here was taken from a TDS 110 installed at the Tacony-Palmyra
Bridge, Burlington County, New Jersey that was used for vehicle
classification for purposes of toll collection.
|We would call two
vehicles towed or hitched together a combination vehicle. A combination vehicle is counted as one,
single vehicle. Why? Because a combination vehicle takes up one
truck parking space.
